On shoot days, us Zana Girls like to reward ourselves with a little lunchtime adventure – photographing products can make you really hungry, ya know! Enter New York Bagels on Harrington street.

I have only fond memories of breakfasts, brunches and lunches spent in their Sea Point deli – being able to pick pretty much any topping to put on top of a freshly baked bagel or douse a waffle in as much ice-cream and chocolate sauce as possible. Any kids dream!
The family-run deli, New York Bagels, has a long standing history dating as far back as 1940 with a well-deserved reputation for the finest traditional hand-made, boiled bagels. These fine New York-style Bagels come in various varieties (rye bagel! YUM!) and are finished off with the yummiest of fillings, from your traditional salmon and cream cheese to the beef burger on a bagel with chilli and cheese. Oh, and if you’re not into bagels (not sure why you wouldn’t be) they have some gorgeous fresh croissants and other bakes on offer that you can enjoy your espresso with.

With the closing of the Sea Point store, their quaint shop on Harrington street has a different kind of charm (and we LOVE it). A service window leading out onto the street, standing wooden cafe tables and the movement of the CBD – it’s the perfect spot for a quick work lunch or Saturday breakfast.
